MELT VALUE AT THE LIVE SILVER PRICE

Melt value of one item
$54.15

Dealers typically charge about $57.40 to $59.56 for one, which is 6% to 10% over melt.

A silver round is a one-ounce disc of .999 silver made by a private mint. Unlike a silver eagle or a Maple Leaf, it is not legal tender and carries no government guarantee, so it usually sells for less than a government coin. For silver content alone it is the cheapest common way to buy a single ounce.

Premium range method. Dealer prices for one item (check or wire payment) read from two dealers on 2026-10-28, divided by melt value and rounded outward. It is a range of what we saw, not a promise. Card payments and small orders cost more; large orders cost less.

Questions

Quick answers

How much is a 1 oz Silver Round worth?

Its melt value is the pure silver it contains (1 troy ounce) times the live silver spot price, shown at the top of this page. Buying it costs more than melt, and selling it back typically returns 95% to 99% of melt for well-known bullion.

What premium over spot do dealers charge for a 1 oz Silver Round?

Lustre saw dealers charging about 6% to 10% over melt for one item on 2026-10-28 (single-item prices paid by check or wire, from SD Bullion and Kitco). Premiums change with demand and supply, and are higher for small orders and card payments.

Is a 1 oz Silver Round priced by the ounce?

Yes. The price follows the silver spot price, plus a premium. The premium pays for making, shipping and the dealer's costs.

Where can I compare 1 oz Silver Round prices?

The table on this page lists the dealers Lustre checks, with each current price and premium over spot, and a link to the dealer. If a dealer's price cannot be read, the row says "Check price".
