Type 1 or Type 2 reverse

Coins dated 2021 and later may show the Type 2 reverse: an eagle landing on an oak branch. Earlier coins and part of the 2021 mintage show the Type 1 reverse of a heraldic eagle in front of a shield.

Milk spots

Some Silver Eagles, especially from the 2000s, show white or cloudy spots on the surface known as milk spots. They lower the price of a coin that is otherwise in Mint State.
