Full Torch (FT)

Look at the torch on the reverse. If the horizontal lines of the torch are complete and unbroken, the coin is called Full Torch and brings a premium in Mint State.

Check the silver

A dime dated 1964 or earlier is 90% silver and shows a solid silver edge. From 1965 the edge shows a copper stripe.

Mint mark position

D and S sit on the reverse to the left of the torch base. Philadelphia coins have none.
