Pure metal content times the price per kilo. The headline number above is for pure gold (1.000), the spot price per kilo. 24k bullion is listed at .999, so it is a little lower. Hallmark stamps such as .916 and .585 are the numbers stamped on jewelry; the prices use the share to four decimals (22k is .9167, 14k is .5833). This is melt value, the worth of the metal, not a shop or dealer price. Each karat has its own page with a calculator and the share dealers typically pay.

Premium is the Lustre range of what dealers charged over the metal value for one item on 28 Oct 2026 (SD Bullion and Kitco, single-item prices), rounded outward. It moves every day; see compare prices for the dealers. Large bars usually carry a lower premium per ounce than small coins, because the making cost is spread over more metal. A 400 troy ounce gold bar weighs 12.44 kg.

Kilos and ounces

A kilo is not 32 troy ounces

A kilo is 1,000 grams, which is 32.1507 troy ounces. A dealer prices a kilo bar by its exact content, so it is worth a little more than 32 ounces (about 0.15 troy ounce, or 4.7 grams, of gold more). Weighing in grams avoids the mix-up between troy ounces, everyday ounces and kilos.

What is the gold price per kilo today?

The live number is at the top of this page, in US dollars per kilo of pure gold. It is the gold spot price per troy ounce multiplied by 32.1507, and it updates about every minute. A kilo is 1,000 grams, which is 32.1507 troy ounces.

How do I change the gold price per ounce into a price per kilo?

Multiply the price per troy ounce by 32.1507, the number of troy ounces in a kilo (1,000 grams divided by 31.1035). Or work in grams: price per gram times 1,000.
