Divide the price per troy ounce by 31.1035, the number of grams in a troy ounce. Use the troy ounce, not the everyday (avoirdupois) ounce of 28.35 grams, because metal prices are quoted per troy ounce.
Is the silver price per gram what I will be paid?
No. It is the value of the pure metal at the market price. A dealer pays a share of the metal value for scrap: typically about 70% to 90% of melt for scrap silver and sterling. That range is a Lustre editorial estimate, not a quote. Coins and bars cost more than the metal value because they carry a premium.
What is the price per gram for sterling silver?
